Bawah Island Anambas

Bawah Islands are a group of islands located at the southern end of Anambas Islands about 150 miles east of Singapore. The main island covers an area of 66 hectares and is surrounded by four small islands and a small island of 101 acres in total. The uninhabited islands are about 30 miles away. Among the many islands in the Anambas Islands, Bawah Island is more prominent as a favorite diving destination as well as a luxury holiday offering perfect serenity.

The island is full of colorful fish and other unique marine animals as well as pristine coral reefs; Bawah Island was ranked first among the top five tropical islands of Asia selected by CNN.com, ahead of Koh Cang (Thailand), Langkawi (Malaysia), Halong Bay (Vietnam), and Similan Islands (Thailand).
For its extraordinary beauty, the island is even nicknamed the Maldives of Anambas. The number of foreign tourists visiting compared to local visitors proves that the island below is quite famous for foreign tourists. This island is an unspoiled paradise still not so well known in the country.

Pulau Bawah is part of a group of 5 islands with the Lower as the largest island and 4 islands called Sanggah, Murbah, Lidi, and Elang. These five islands form an oval blue lagoon. At low tide, the islands appear somewhat indefinitely, as white sand and coral reefs are interconnected, creating a land bridge separating the bay from the open South China Sea. Laguna offers the perfect snorkeling experience with exotic underwater beauty. The floor of this lagoon also has flat white sand, decorated with coral reefs of various colors and sizes as well as a set of fish that are visible even from the surface.
